Cynthia L. Olsen has lived in the northwestern Pennsylvania and southwestern New York area for her entire life. Her main inspiration comes from her love for the outdoors and wildlife from the area. As long as she can remember she was always drawing, mostly animals. She attended art classes in high school and dabbled in may different art forms and making signs. She now uses a woodburner instead of a pencil as her favorite art form and tries to capture each and every detail. Her passion for photographing the beautiful landscape of this area is now becoming the ideas for many of her woodburnings. She also enjoys recycling or repurposing wood items into pieces of art. "The biggest satisfaction I get is when someone else finds a connection to one of my drawings"

Her background is in newspaper advertising with many years of designing ads, newsletters, flyers, business cards, etc. Cynthia has belonged to the Corry Artist's Guild since 2008. In the past year she has had her work on display at the Painted Finch Gallery in Corry. Very recently she has discovered "woodburning on paper" with great success and plans on continuing this avenue, as well as wood and leather.
